About The Event
Tamil New Year (Chithirai 1st), Vishu Kani & Baisakhi
Tamil New Year, or Puthandu, is a sacred day that signifies the commencement of the Tamil calendar, observed with prayers, temple visits, and the drawing of intricate kolams, invoking divine blessings for prosperity and well-being. Chaitra Vishu, also known as Ugadi or Gudi Padwa, is celebrated as the dawn of the New Year in various Indian states, marked by special prayers, reading of the Panchangam, and the preparation of a ritualistic dish, symbolizing the acceptance of life's spiritual essence and its myriad flavours.
